CONCERT REVIEW: Linkin Park @ Air Canada Centre – 02.08.11

Linkin Park is the biggest and most well-known band Misunderrated has covered to date, something that was in my wildest dreams when I had the idea of Misunderrated. In fact, Linkin Park was one of the reason that inspired me to start this site. One of my biggest regret was missing their performance in Hong Kong back in 2003/2004 and missed them for against Edgefest and Projekt Revolution a couple years ago in Toronto. Therefore, it is a my greatest pleasure to have the chance to cover this show.Watch Full Movie Online Streaming Online and Download

Linkin Park released their fourth studio album A Thousand Suns in 2010 and embarked on the world tour throughout 2010 and 2011. On February 8th, 2011, Linkin Park performed at the Air Canada Centre. There was a Canadian flag hanging in front of the stage with a few fans signatures on it – the girls who gave it to the band saw me in the photo pit and asked me to take a photo of it with their camera, they were really stoked to see it hung up!

Although I have never listened to the new album, I was grateful that most of the band’s set consisted of old songs instead of new ones. Another notable thing about Linkin Park’s music is their diverse musical style, other than the bands songs that combines the infamous rapping by MC/vocalist Mike Shinoda with lead singer Chester Bennington’s expressive vocals, to an instrumental interludes and a anthemic “When They Come For Me” featuring Chester and guitarist Brad Delson on percussion. There was no boring moments throughout the two hours of the show. Unfortunately, the band had to reschedule the a few upcoming dates of the tour after the Toronto because of lead singer Chester Bennington’s illness. Despite that, Chester has performed remarkably well at the show and there was not noticeably affected by his sickness.

Finally, Linkin Park is known to be innovative, exemplified by their humanitarian acts such as funding the charity Music for Relief, determination to bring fans closer to the band through their fan club LP Underground and an international LPU summit involving fans contributing to the community. So it was impressive to see that Linkin Park provides a redeem code for every attendees for an audio download of the show on the official LP Tour Bootleg website, which allows fans to relive the live experience as many times as possible.
